Consultation for Susan Caldwell
4509 Colorado Crossing

Goals:

1) Make entrance more inviting; add a new pathway for pilates clients
2) Continue to address stormwater runoff and erosion
3) Reduce irrigation; replace grass with native plants/Xeriscape
4) Support butterflies and other pollinators

Below is a rough sketch illustrating what I have in mind: an extended terrace of limestone boulders to help control erosion and a path of large limestone flagstones bisecting the terraces. This is just a concept based on a photo - the actual shape of layout of the terraces would determined by the contour of the slope. A planting of native flowering perennials and grasses will help anchor the soil, provide an appealing entry, and support pollinators.

Here are some examples of my work designing native butterfly gardens for front yards and entries.
